Carol,
Yes, this is devastating news. I am going to ask that you (and anyone else you'd like to send this to) join me in these specific prayer requests:
1. Remember that God's Word clearly tells us that we have to come to Him as little children. I believe it is only then that we can have the kind of faith required to suspend our "adult" disbelief. With childlike faith, we can trust in His incomparable power over sickness and death and pray to that end.
2. Let's specifically pray for her physical body to be strengthened, not weakened, by the rigorous rounds of radiation and treatment she is about to undergo.
3. Pray with me that God doesn't allow Tiffany OR Brian to despair or believe for one second that He isn't able to heal and deliver.
4. Pray that all their needs are met-- physical, spiritual, emotional-- and that any specific need they have will quickly be brought to the attention of the one(s) of us who can meet it and that we will be instantly responsive.
5. Ask the Lord to do the supernatural. Remind Him of the miracles He has performed that have brought Him glory and renown--and ask him to again glorify himself by healing our precious friend.
6. Let's pray that Dr. Peppercorn and all the medical team will receive God's wisdom for her care and treatment and that no medical oversights or mistakes will interfere with His healing plan for her cancer.
7. Remember that we are in a battle and pray with me as a warrior. We have the God of the universe as our Commander--and He is fully capable of defeating every enemy attack.
Already, we've seen the miraculous as God has touched her liver and her breast. Why should we doubt that He can also touch her brain with His healing power?
I have shared with you that from a medical standpoint this news is indeed grim. But so was the late stage breast cancer diagnosis, and so was the fact that it had metastasized to her liver. Despite all that, God gave her a clear scan recently--so I am compelled to pray that He does the same thing for the places in her brain that have now been affected.
So, can we pray Psalm 91 together in a simlar way to the bold, italicized script below? Thank you again for your joining me in this battle for our dear, precious friend.&nbs p; Together, we will pray that this foe is defeated in Jesus' Name!
Psalm 91
(Father, Tiffany lives in the shelfter of the Most High and finds her rest in the shadow of the Almighty
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
(You alone are her refuge, her place of safety, for you are her God and she trusts you)
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
(You will rescue her from every trap and protect her from deadly disease.)
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
(You will cover her with your feathers and shelter her with your wings. Your faithful promises are her armor and protection.)
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
(Let her not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.)
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
(Do not allow her to dread {or fear} the disease that stalks in darkness, or the disaster that strikes at midday.)
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
(Let no evils touch Tiffany, Lord)
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
(Open her eyes and our eyes, please)
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
(And be her refuge, her shelter, Lord Most High)
9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
(so that no evil will conquer her and no plague, disease, or sickness will overtake her)
10 no20evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
(Please give your angels charge over hern to protect her everywhere she goes)
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
(Hold her up with their hands so that she is protected)
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
(For you have promised to rescue those who love you and protect those who trust in your name)
14 The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
(and when they call, you answer, when they are in trouble you rescue and honor them)
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
(so please reward Tiffany with a long life and your salvation!)
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation."
(in Jesus strong and mighty name, Amen.)
