Just wanted to share with you one other thing I read in the book last night comparing Islam and Christianity. The book, "Do We Worship the Same God", states that one reason Muslims feel opposed to Christianity is the fact that they do not see Christ as being the Son of God. They feel that Allah was not born and cannot father; therefore, Christ is a prophet born of this earth. They refuse to worship Mohammed as a god because he is looked at as simply a man that was given messages directly from God to teach the followers. They feel that we, as Christians, should keep Christ on the same level because he was a man. Mohammed was from Mecca, and he left Mecca for a short while to save his life when he felt he was in danger. While he was away, he ministered to two communities and converted them...strongly increasing the number of Muslim followers. He then decided that if he was going to fulfill his purpose that Allah intended for him, he must return to Mecca to minister to the people. So, he did. Now Mecca is considered a holy city among Muslims.
I am simply sharing what I read. You know that I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he died for my sins and was resurrected from death. The point of this is to share knowledge so that we broaden ourselves.
