Week 1 - Day 1

Before I even get started, please (please, please) remember that I am not a Bible study leader. I am just asking you to join me. My answers will probably not match yours, and they are (by no means) the right answers. They are just from my heart and what I felt while I was studying. Give me no credit...just share with me. To God be the glory!!!

This day of Bible study spoke volumes to me!!! I love Beth Moore, and I love how she "gets to me" with the word of God!!!

Today's treasure:

"Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few" (1 Sam. 14:6)

What does the expression "a person after God's own heart" mean to you?

In my opinion, to seek God in all you do- so that you will represent Him faithfully to others

Read 1 Samuel 14: 1 - 23

Describe the relationship between Jonathan and his armor bearer.

The armor-bearer was very obedient to Jonathan. Jonathan went before him. They almost acted as "one".

paraphrase 1 Sam. 14:6

Nothing is bigger than God!!! When He acts on our behalf, even though the odds look difficult to us....THEY ARE NOT TO GOD!!!

Read Daniel 3: 16 - 18

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego knew God could save them from the furnace. However, even if He didn't, they would not bow to ANY false god. They remained faithful to the one and only God.

When the odds are stacked against me, I really try my best to realize that God is capable and He always has us in His arms to carry us through.

How do we have faith:

Read Romans 10:17

The Word of God leads to Hearing His Messages which lead to Faith

Read Ephesians 6: 10 -13

God commands us to put on the whole armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's schemes

We are suppose to put on the Armor of God

What do you think the armor bearer meant by pledging himself to Jonathan "heart and soul"?

It meant he was one with Jonathan and would obey him and seek him

How often do you feel you are with God "heart and soul"?

The next section discusses how God goes first in our battles to lay our enemies at our feet...Is this huge, or what? Have you ever thought about that? God is going first in my battle...Tiffany, God is leading the way!!!!

Samuel inadvertently put his army in jeopardy by forcing them to fast. They could not face their enemy because they were exhausted, and Saul's son was almost put to death because of Saul's selfish command.

Beth insists that we must be called by God to fast. It is not a decision that we should take lightly because we need our strength for many battles. We should only fast when it is called by God and it will result in added strength.

1 Kings 19: 7 - 8

God commanded Elijah to rise up and eat and drink because of his fear and exhaustion at the prospect of facing Jezebel.

Guys, I have to tell you that this portion of the Bible study comes at a great time for me. You know that I have cut out all of my sugars and meats and caffeine for this disease. My body is struggling and I am very weak. I feel extremely bad right now. I need strength. I need direction on what my diet needs to be so I can have the strength to get through this chemo. Please be in prayer for me because I may be making decisions that are not lead by God. I am making them out of fear!!! Lord, please help me to know how to keep my body full of strength for this journey!!

Thank you all for taking time to read with me.

I love you all so very much

Tiffany
